Nature Through My Lens

Ice Monday

bushtit

It was a dark dismal day yesterday and we were getting freezing rain.  Everything was covered in ice for awhile there.  A group of Bush Tits came in to visit the feeders.  They are very small and very quick.  This one stood on a frozen branch long enough for a shot, but the light was dismal!

  1. Ooh, that looks like it was cold. The Bush Tit is the first I’ve heard of it.

    • Bob, thanks! While the UK has a number of birds called Iits, this is the only one in North America! It’s a cute little thing! Always in a group of ten or more!

Cute little bird. It sort of blends in with the gray day.

    • Robbie, yes indeed! It was just a miserable day! But it was up to 9 degrees this afternoon, so all that nasty ice is gone!
