Andy, around here and across the plains there’s all kinds of them. There’s a couple at the local bird sanctuary that are almost tame. They usually have a young one every year. Unfortunately something happened to the eggs (2) this year. I haven’t heard if they had another clutch, seeing the loss was quite early in the season.

When these birds are in the area, they attract a lot of birders and usually seen from a distance. To be able to get so close, you are fortunate.
