We have had a pair of Black-headed Grosbeaks (Pheucticus melanocephalus) in our backyard area for the past number of years. This week they returned and I’m happy to see them.

She is a beauty. Another new bird for me. We have the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks around here.

Ruth, thank you! The female Rosie, is very similar to the Black-headed!
