A New One

A brand new visitor to our bird bath. A fledgling European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) This guy is probably only a week or so old. Once they get going they grow very fast.

  1. I don’t think I have ever seen a fledgling of this species. The adults are around here in spring.Great shot and I love the details.

    • Ruth, thank you! It’s funny because they all fledge at the same time, and we end up with a bunch of them chasing parents around!
