Nature Through My Lens

Rufous

IMG_8661

A pretty female Rufous Hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) checking out the bud of a Crocosmia flower. I’ve noticed that the bird punctures the bud to get it’s bill right inside the flower.

To all my friends, I apologize for not being in touch, posting and replying to comments. I’ve been under the weather for a week. I hope the worst is over. Thank you for your indulgence!

    • Ruth, thank you very much! I appreciate your comments! Think I’d coming around the corner! Will be much better if we get the rain we are forecast on the weekend. And I hope it washes some of the heat and all of the smoke away!
