A Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) on the rocks edging the grass in our garden.

    Oh what a beauty! He looks more brown than most of the ones we see here.

    • Ruth, thank you! They are so pretty with their dark hoods! I think the lighter ones are juveniles around here, but it’s so hard to tell when there are so many varieties of the one bird! They have only be back here a couple of days, and I glad to see them again!
