Nature Through My Lens

I Like Peanuts

IMG_4362.jpg

Here’s one from the critter cam! A black morph Grey Squirrel! She is a daily visitor to our feeders where we always make sure that there’s some peanuts out for her. Three of her offspring also come over and it becomes quite entertaining watching them chase each other around the yard! Check out those claws! If you look close you can see our house reflected in her eyes!

Black squirrels are so pretty. We only have the gray squirrels but I’ve seen the black ones just over the border in Niagara Falls, Canada. 🙋

    • Birdlady, thank you! I think they are pretty too. The first black one I ever saw was in southern Ontario. They have been doing quite well out here and seem to be everywhere!

    • Ruth, thank you! The black ones are really grey squirrels. There colour has morphed into black. We had a Grey one and a black on in the yard today. The black one was showing the grey one around. Where to find all the goodies! Everywhere the black one went the grey one followed! I believe the black is a dominant gene and is slowing taking over all the greys out here! I do love to see them every day!
