Nature Through My Lens

Little Visitor

Here’s one of our smallest birds, a Bushtit (Psaltriparus minimus.) It’s size even comes out in it’s scientific name! They travel in a group. Today we got about 8 at the suet feeder. They don’t stay long, only a minute and then they are gone! To me they look like the original angry bird!

    • Ruth, Thank you! They always look angry to me!! According to my Sibley, they only range along the coast down to Mexico and into the midwest in the States! They are smaller then a Chickadee and always come in a group. We had 10 this afternoon. They really flit about, even faster than a Chickadee. It’s a bit of a challenge getting a shot!
