Nature Through My Lens

The Starling Tree

IMG_6135.jpg

A Spirea bush across the street from us has become a favourite spot for a small group of European Starlings (Sturnus vulgaris) to perch. Just as I was taking this shot, the sun was shining but a squall of snow blew through. It only lasted a moment and was then sunny again!

    • Ruth, thank you! I think they are too! Their voices are incredible. I read somewhere that they have the ability to mimic other birds. I watched one the other day and it sounded exactly like a Robin! They get together like this and have quite a chatter with each other!
