Bug on a Mug

A Ladybug in the house. It landed on the lip of a coffee mug and then spent about 15 minutes going around and around the edge of the mug!

Spencer

Here's another shot of my buddy Spencer!

Here’s another shot of my buddy Spencer!

House Finch

One of the local gang. These little guys are year round residents, and I’m glad they are. They are such pretty little things. According to my book, a House Finch is 12-15 cm long, weighs in at a whopping 16-27 grams and has a life span of up to 12 years. Amazing!

Another fluffy One

Here’s another fluffy little House Finch. There are lots of them around and I sure like taking their pictures. Each one has it’s own little character traits.

Juvenile Rufous

I don’t think this little guy was sticking his tongue out at me. I hope not. When a hummer sticks out his tongue he really sticks out his tongue!

Sunday Finch

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the flowers!

Mr. Rufous

After waiting and watching for a month, I finally got a shot of the male Rufous Hummingbird. I think this one is my best of a hummer, so far. He sat so regally on this branch. He was on lookout, chasing another male away from his area, then back to the perch.

Success At Last!

Today’s juvenile Brewer’s Blackbird is successful in getting Dad to give it something to eat. This young guy is old enough to hunt and peck for himself, but it’s always nice to get a touch from the old man!
