The local Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus) likes to come into our yard, and sit on the old bench for awhile. Meantime, scaring the bejammers out of all the little birds!

In for Lunch

Here’s my buddy, the Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus). It almost got lucky this lunchtime, but went away empty taloned! It’s nothing if not determined!

The Boss

Here’s the boss! It keeps all the little birds on their toes! A Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus) It drops into the yard every day or so to see what it can catch for lunch. It went hungry today!

Today we had another visit from the Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus) Today it came in close and sat on the perch for our feeders. No free lunch today!

Those Eyes

A Sharp-shinned Hawk, dropped in at lunchtime and thankfully scared all the little birds away.  I’m happy to see it but don’t want it using our feeders as a buffet!  No luck this time buddy!
