Looking to the Future

A regal Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) looking into the setting sun.

Pumpkin Pie, Not

In the remains of a farmers Pumpkin field the crows found a feast. They are either eating the broken Pumpkin pieces or the grubs and bugs attracted by the Pumpkin. Hard to tell which.

On the Blacktop

Here’s another Costco Parking lot bird. This rather angry looking guy is a Brewer’s Blackbird (Euphagus cyanocephalus.) What a handle he has! I didn’t realize how much stuff was left by people until I got down to his level!!

Family Gathering

The cars zoom in and the cars zoom out. People walk by underneath, close. None of this family of Brewer’s Blackbirds (Euphagus cyanocephalus) seem to care at all. In the parking lot of Costco in Abbotsford there are a number of these trees. Almost each has some birds in it! Must be an old habitat for them!

Any Port in a Storm

A small group of Gulls found this puddle in a vacant lot in Abbotsford, B.C. to be quite to their liking. They became alert and stopped bathing when we pulled up.

Eyes on Me

Got out of the car at the store and notice this guy keeping a close eye on me.

On the Hunt

A Great Blue Heron, having some success catching little silver fish in the marsh. ┬áDon’t know how many of those little guys make up a meal!
