Fish for Lunch Too

DSCN1249.jpg

Here’s another Eagle shot. This one an immature Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) with a lovely dead Salmon for lunch. This guy will be White by next year. You can just see the white coming in around it’s bill, which will also turn colour as it ages!

On High

A Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) sits at the top of it’s nest tree surveying the mountain side as the clouds brush past the high ridge.

The Bane…

DSCN0701.jpg

…to photography! There’s always that branch or that powerline or whatever, in the way. This beauty was quite a ways away from me, and I used full zoom on my P900 and didn’t see the branch. If I would I would have moved down a wee bit and maybe got rid of the branch. Anyway, here’s a beautiful Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) in all it’s splendor!

Birds Galore

This flock of Gulls, about 90 of them with sitting in the field until we drove up, then they took off. Also on the field were a bunch of ducks. Find the Mallards here! Also in the trees there’s about 35 crows and over the other way a Bald Eagle. So it was productive!

Watching

IMG_2903.jpg

Bald Eagles on the top of a communications tower at the end of White Rock pier.  I’m told there are a large number of Eagles this year because of the size of the Salmon runs.  To me it appears these guys were keeping an eye on the Gulls as there were quite a number on the jetty right below them.
