Mischief Maker

A Stellar’s Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri). Like most Corvids these birds are very intelligent and curious. Nothing goes unnoticed in the yard. Something new will be checked out within minutes! I was about 2 meters from this one!

Here’s another shot of our old friend Scruffy the Stellar’s Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) It was in fine form today!  Just raring for peanuts.  It puts up quite a fuss when ignored!

This is a Stellar’s Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) that we have nicknamed Scruffy, living up to his name!

My Buddy

Here’s my buddy, we nickname it Scruffy! It’s a Stellar’s Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) and it’s sitting on the edge of a small fountain in our garden. It’s about 5 feet away from me and giving me the eye!

In The Snow

A Stellar’s Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) perched on the branch of our snow covered Empress Tree!

Stand Proud

Here’s a handsome fellow, a Northwestern Crow (Corvus caurinus). It seems that word has got out that there is a good place to get your photo taken. More and more seem to be coming to the fence. This chap is a typical Corvid, interested in where his next meal is coming from! There’s a Suet feeder just off to the left and this guy will take the whole lot if it can get away with it!
