A Stellar’s Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri). Like most Corvids these birds are very intelligent and curious. Nothing goes unnoticed in the yard. Something new will be checked out within minutes! I was about 2 meters from this one!

A Stellar’s Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) is focused on the peanuts I put on the patio table. This is a new one as It wouldn’t come in while we were there! Old Scruffy would have been right in there!

In the Wind

Here’s a Stellar’s Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) having a bad hair day, thanks to the wind! It’s sitting in our Empress tree. The brown objects are flower buds which have been on the tree all winter and will soon bloom in lovely purple flowers!
