Spring is in the Air


Two male Ring-necked Ducks (Aythya collaris) swimming along behind a female Bufflehead (Bucephala albeola) Ah well, it’s Spring and who cares is she don’t look like Mama!

Common Goldeneye


A hen Common Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula). This head forward behaviour is a response to a males courtship display.

Here is yesterdays mate. A male Hooded Merganser. He has such a wonderful hood. Here he is an a golden hour pond. The movement of water and light and reflection interests me a great deal. This is a great example.
