Here’s a fine European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) in it’s winter coat of colours. Only problem is that it only has one leg! But that hasn’t seemed to slow it down at all!

Here’s a parent European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) feeding a fledgling Starling a grub. Now it may just be me, but I see a definite face on the grub! Oh My, here I go Mum!!


The Starling Tree

A Spirea bush across the street from us has become a favourite spot for a small group of European Starlings (Sturnus vulgaris) to perch. Just as I was taking this shot, the sun was shining but a squall of snow blew through. It only lasted a moment and was then sunny again!

A New One

A brand new visitor to our bird bath. A fledgling European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) This guy is probably only a week or so old. Once they get going they grow very fast.
