The Flock
A growing flock of Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) that are feeding in a field near where we live.
A Gaggle
This morning we had about 80 Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) in the Corn stubble field across the road from us. This is part of that group. The forground vegetation is Blackberry bushes. This is the only thing separating the geese from our street. Mind you it is about 7 feet high! A bunch of Crows were also in on the feast.
Pumpkin Pie, Not
In the remains of a farmers Pumpkin field the crows found a feast. They are either eating the broken Pumpkin pieces or the grubs and bugs attracted by the Pumpkin. Hard to tell which.
Wing Span
A Great Blue Heron (Andea herodias) in a local farmers field hunting for summer. We stopped on the road and I guess it didn’t like our presence, even though we were a distance away. It started to leave and then decided to stay after this great wing display!
