A immature Spotted Towhee (Pipilo maculatus) takens advantage of a saucer full of Niger seed in our garden. We have been watching this bird grow up all summer. It is finally beginning to look like a Towhee!

I rarely post more than one shot, but this is the same bird as my previous post.  I just had to post this one!  Seems I was only supposed to take the good side shot!  Sorry, Towhee, I guess I didn’t get the memo!

In the same bush as yesterday, this Spotted Towhee is waiting for a chance to get to the feeder.  Snow, rain and cold weather persist here, so the feeders are very active.

In this time of freezing temperatures and snow, remember that it’s important that the birds have a source of water.  They like us, need water!
